Our travel timing gave us our first 'shoot' at Capitol Reef NP on Sunday evening, September 23. We found that some of the park roads had been washed out by Saturday's rain. As the Capitol Gorge Road finally opened on Tuesday morning the washouts made no real difference for us. We have even included photographs from the balcony of our motel unit a few miles out of Capitol Reef in Torrey, Utah. The Capitol Gorge drive was great! We were always pulled off to the side of the road to shoot ... and so it has a separate space ... just for that area.
These three photographs were taken from our motel room balcony in Torrey. Early light and late light ... before breakfast and before dinner! They are not really in Capitol Reef, but we won't quibble
